Any designer's main goal is to create a beautiful space that meets the needs and desires of their client. But achieving that goes beyond soothing colors and stunning furniture - it's the things you don't see that make a space work.
Balance, scale, values - these are the tools that are employed at the beginning of the process to ensure that, at it's completion, no matter the style or palette or size of the project, that space will "feel" right.
In the end, it's not the money you spend on a project that makes it a success - it's the talent you bring to it.
